Conventional analytical methods like XRD and IR spectroscopy have lots of limitations to study the structure, conformation and morphology for solid powdered sample. Therefore, demands for the solid-state NMR spectroscopy become larger and larger for a variety of solid-state samples. Many samples from viscous liquid-state to solid-state even for paste-state can be applied to the solid-state NMR spectroscopy.

Here, we will discuss about nano- and bio- applications of solid-state NMR spectroscopy for new materials like direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) membrane, elastic rubbers, Li ion battery, and bio-macromolecules like membrane proteins in phospholipid bilayers and bicelles.
